HMS Bristol AV Install

HMS Bristol (D23) is a Type 82 destroyer, the only vessel of her class to be built for the Royal Navy. Originally intended as the first of a class of new large destroyers to escort the CVA-01 aircraft carriers projected to come into service in the early 1970s, Bristol turned out to be a unique ship. The rest of the class were cancelled and HMS Bristol was converted to a Training & Accommodation ship, primarily for reserve and cadet forces

THE CHALLENGE:

The Royal Navy required a fully functioning Training suite on HMS Bristol, they approached Pro-ology to survey the vessel and design a suitable solution

DELIVERY:

AVC designed and Installed a Lecture and Training Suite utilising AMX Control, Samsung Visualiser, Sanyo Projection, Extron Switching and Interactive Smart Tablet technology. We had to work alongside the main fitout contractors spending time working on location at Newcastle’s Largest Ship Yard. The job saw us devising ways to safely and securely run cables through and fixing to reinforced steel walls within the main missile hold. The outcome was a fully integrated solution with full room control. The completed solution was delivered well within the time scales and the £30K Budget

RESULT: They stated the suite is: “everything we wanted and more.”

Chief Roberts” stated that he has worked with hundreds of contractors over the years and found Pro-ology by far the most approachable.

Wilf Morton stated AVC are everything he looks for in a contractor. Knowledgeable & Efficient.”
